Coursera: An introduction to data science

Cousera is a wonderful site where you can sign up for free courses most of which are at a university level. If you decide to take any don’t take them lightly, whatever level of knowledge and skill you possess you will be tested.

I recently started “An introduction to data science” and have been thoroughly enjoying it. Bill Howe is a good lecturer and covers the topics in a stepped fashion with well constructed problem assignments that build up your knowledge.

It is well worth taking a look at some of the courses on offer and they also provide a signature track where you get a verified certificate on completing the course.

I am currently signed up to the following courses:

Malicious Software and its Underground Economy: Two Sides to Every Story

Internet History, Technology, and Security

Creative Programming for Digital Media & Mobile Apps

I will be posting some articles over the next few months as and when I have the time to. These will have some information on the courses I am undertaking and some observations on what I have learnt.
